Guest guest
Yes, and if I didn't hurt so bad in my back and hands, I would put on support hose as that helps. I have also found that walking around the house, after I get up in the morning and make my ablutions, helps start the day without so much aching. Also, when I sit, I always sit in my LazyBoy rocker and I rock, patting my feet so as to work those leg muscles and keep the blood flowing. I try to get in a half hour walk every other day (even if I have to stop and rest several times while walking) as walking helps more capitularies to develop and the muscles moving help milk out the old blood and the fatigue and pain chemicals. When I ride in a car, I sit there and pat my feet and do glut crunches as that seems to help, too. My legs ache and I get a hot searing pain down the side and into my knee. I don't drive at all because of it. Even when I'm a passenger I don't feel so great afterwards. Guest guest
I am thinking the right question is, Does anyone have legs that do NOT ache? I can't sleep on my side because of all the pressure points that are set off. When they go off during the day and the exercises and walking I described in an earlier posting don't do it, I sit and watch TV a couple hours while doing accupressure at the million spots from my hip to my foot. While rocking and squeezing the abs and gluts, if possible, or taking turns. Not just rocking, but vigourously, using my feet patting up and down and my tummy and butt muscles squeezed, held, then relaxed. Both my dad and husband have the same complaints so I am not sure this is a Fibro thing. Dad wears the hospital weight support socks every day and hubby wears thigh high (almost to the knees) elasticized hose, even in the summer. I wish it didn't hurt my hands and back so much to put them on because they really help. My sister with fibro sometimes wears her hospital weight socks to bed. Guest guest
Yes! I work at a grocery store as a cashier and I used to work 8 hour shifts, then went down to 6 1/2 and am lucky that school is out because now I can only work 3 to 4 hour shifts (depending on hubby's hours at work and my son's summer services). The 8 hour shifts practically killed my legs (and my wrist from the twisting as I'm scanning the groceries...figure I'm working on carpal tunnel), the 6 1/2 hour shifts during the school year were horrible, and even the 3 and 4 hour shifts are uncomfortable but doable. By the time I get home I am exhausted but I can't sleep because of the pain in my legs. And I've noticed muscle twitches also. UGH! I can't quit though because I can't do a job that requires much brain function (because I just don't have much brain left) and I can't do fast food anymore (the one job that I didn't have too much pain with because I was always moving) because my hands break out whenever I come into contact with any cleaner and a lot of food products. Oh well, such is life. I guess I'll just have to learn to live with it and start looking into other pain meds as ibuprofin just isn't doing the trick anymore Sorry I rambled... Guest guest
Judy, Yes, my legs ache, and it drives me crazy. I have a desk job, and it's all I can do to stay sane through the day. I just try to move around as much as possible, but it's hard when you're expected to be tied to a desk most of the day. Take care. Tammie & Leska. Guest guest
Judy, I think all of us have this. My muscles cramp and ache if I sit too long, driving has become a misery. My hips and butt are the absolute worst. Some days I can't stand it. You're not alone. > Does Anyone have legs that ache????? Guest guest
Hi Judy Oh yes, my legs do ache and are so weak. The only way I can explain them is to say they feel like jello so much. I do drive but not very often. It hurts my leg to even push on the exclerator. I love my cruise control. I used to be the type of person that would get in the car and go anywhere. I would drive 500 or 1000 miles by myself, now I am lucky to drive 10 minutes down the road. I am going to a pain specialist next Friday. I only hope she can help me with ALL my aches and pains. Good Luck to you and Gentle Hugs Sherry in SC " In order to succeed you must fail, so that you know what not to do the next time. Guest guest
My legs ache all the time. They ache more so when it's colder out. It really sucks. Long drives are bad too. My family lives 1 1/2 hrs away and my in-laws live 2 hrs away. Even when driving from my families home to my in-laws. So, before we drive I take my muscle relaxer. Luckily my husband does most of the driving. So, don't feel feel alone. For every symptom one has there is the same symptom someone else here has. When I have the aches here at home I use my heating pad. It helps alot. Well, I wish you all a good, pain free day. ~ ---------------------------------
