Guest guest
So far the low fat diet hasn't given Tom the results he was looking for. In addition the doctors have decided to scan his legs for blood clots. He has had a good bit of leg swelling ever since surgery. At first the swelling could be attributed to his IV fluids, but that is no longer the case. The swelling does go down to a considerable extent overnight while he is sleeping. I'm glad they're testing him because we don't want to fool around with blood clots. So, at this point the timetable for Tom's return home is up in the air. He and I would both rather have him at the hospital where he is being closely monitored until they work out all the kinks. His attitude is good, and he's getting stronger everyday. Although he still has pain it has lessened a bit. The stitches are pulling a little, but that just means they're healing. Well, whether we do Christmas at home or Christmas in a hospital room it will still be a blessed holiday. All you have to do is take one look at Tom to know that the new liver is working. The speed bumps he has encountered are short-lived things, and he'll have the rest of his life to enjoy the results of this Christmas miracle.
