I don't know if anyone's ever connected FM with tinnitus (ringing in the

ears). I have had it for a very long time now, but since there doesn't

seem to be anything anyone can do about it, I just chalk it up to -- well,

I'm not sure what. I wouldn't rule out FM as a contributing factor, but

since I am leaning myself toward blaming Epstein-Barr virus for my FM, I

tend to connect the tinnitus with E-B as well.

One test that can be done is to rule out a vascular reason for the ringing

or pulsing in your ears. If you have an artery in very close proximity to

the ear canal, it can cause this problem. However in my own case that

hasn't been the cause, and honestly I don't know of anyone who's said this

happened to them. The test is an MRA -- like an MRI only looking at the

arteries -- and is done in the same way.

Jen,

I don't know if tinnitus is associated with Fibro, but I have this as

well. I also get the vertigo thing, usually when I've been resting,

and I stand up quickly. Or sometimes just from horrendous sinus

pressure on my inner ear. The one thing I can say I've never had

that's associated with Fibro is the blurry vision. Wow, one symptom

out of how many? Actually, I shouldn't joke. It's one less thing to

have to deal with. Anyway, take care.

Hi Jen

Yes I do have ringing in my ears but mine last all day. I don't know what it

would feel like to not hear it. I don't know what is causing it but maybe

the pain specialist can help me there too. There are times when sound is so

amplified. Everything sounds soooo loud.

I have had tinnitus for about 20 years. Also the vertigo thing also. I

think the vertigo thing is fms related but not sure about the tinnitus.

Tinnitus is usually caused by a candida or occasionally other infection in the

ears. This forms a semi-solid plug. It can be

defeated with ozone ear insufflations if you have the ozone equipment. Much

success has been obtained with about 5 drops of

3% peroxide held in each ear for about 5 minutes daily, especially when followed

by a few drops of colloidal silver, which is

also a powerful pathogen defeater.

Other than that, sometimes a heavy metal toxicity (cadmium??) or a mineral

deficiency can cause tinnitus but that's less common.

Not to say there may not be another casue.

You should see a doctor about your ears. You are having bouts of tinnitus.

With the dizziness also you could have vertigo. A good ENT doctor will do

testing of your ears.

I don't think that tinnitus is a symptom of fibro but there are quite a few

that do have it.

Take care,

i have ringing in my ears. i did not realize that so many with

fibromyalgia have the same. sometimes it is so loud to me that i

wonder why someone else can't hear it. and that tunnel sound...well

i have actually gotten up at night to make sure that there's no one

in the house or left the tv on. always sounds like a room full of

people talking in the next room just muffled. i like to think that

maybe this is some psyphic ability that i need to hone. 8-)

somedays i just want to scream. i've learned to sleep with a box fan

on high to block some of the noise.

glad to hear others are having the same problems.
