Guest guest
Well it is my turn to vent now. I went to the pain specialist this morning and not very happy with her. Her mannerism was not very good. She poked, pushed, twisted and turned me. She wants me to have two shots in my muscles with steroid. Both places are in my back. I am not sure if that is what I want to do. I have heard they are very painful and the one thing I don't need is more pain. Has anyone had these steroids shots in their muscles? Was there any reaction from it? It is just so hard to go see a " professional " and have them act like you don't have any real problems. Do exercises.. do exercises.. that is all I hear. It hurts to exercise. It just seems like a circle, going around and around. I cant exercise cause I hurt, according to them my pain is cause I don't exercise. I just feel I am in a no win situation. And to top it all off, I received a letter today saying they have denied my SSD claim. I am having a very rotten day. I think I will take my Ultram and go to bed. Why does life have to be so mean !!! Guest guest
Sherry, I'm so sorry you had such a bad appt. with the pain specialist. All i can say is that at least she poked and prodded you. The one i saw didn't even do that! Just no that you are NOT alone in receiving less than quality service from a doctor. Keep looking! As for the steroid shot, I just received a steroid injection about a month ago. It wasn't really painful at all. It was given in my tush, and I had a slightly sore spot for a few hours. Now, I was given a pretty low dosage so it might be different if I had received a higher dosage, but I didn't have any side effects. No increased appetite, or thirst, orin creased urination, which is awesome, because I pee enough as it is! lol. Things might be different for you, but I found this injection very helpful with my pain. For 3 days I was virtually pain free, and for the rest of the 3 weeks it was in my system, my pain was lowered significantly, enough so that along with my Codeine, it has kept me virtually pain free the whole time. I hope the rest of your day goes better, and whatever you decide to do, I wish you luck. Take care,

Guest guest
HI Sherry, I got a few steriod injections in my left shoulder and mid back about a year ago.. by the time the med kicked in I was in more pain than I already was when I went to visit. I will never ever go thru that again. But everyone is different and it may help others.. this is my input only of course. Hope all is well Terri
