Guest guest
I never realized they could test for that. I had a sleep study a few years ago and said I did NOT have apnea, but I do not feel rested when i wake up. In fact, many times, I feel worse when I wake up than when I went to sleep. I stay up very late because I dread going to sleep at night. I do sleep, infact, I'm ALWAYS tired, and I think I sleep deeply (at least it feels that way) but I just don't feel rested. I don't remember them telling me about the levels of sleep for me. I don't want to try any sleep aids...I get knocked out from just taking claritin or most allergy meds. I don't know how I'd feel taking a sleep med. > Koala-t hugs, Cathy *{ " 0 " }*

Anyone have luck with sleep aids? I take 5 mg of Ambien nightly because I did notice I felt better and did better the next day. I've never had a sleep study done. Dh has told me that I'm a very restless sleeper who sometimes snores, but doesn't (that he can tell) stop breathing. Darcy

Guest guest
I have the same problem. When I sleep, I don't sleep well, and when I wake up, I always have a horrific headache. I also had a sleep test, but it was inconclusive. When I had an operation last Summer, I stopped breathing on the table, and when I woke up, I was so sore that I didn't know what to do. They had put tubes down my throat, and up my nose, and they had bruised my mouth while doing all of this. My throat felt like some one had stomped on it, and my chest, where they had pounded on it felt like I was having a heart attack. I asked what had happened, and that was when they told me that I had a sleep problem. I was supposed to go to the doctors for it, but I was frightened, and did not go. My husband some times will shake me in the middle of the night, and he swears that I stop breathing, so I will ask the doctor when I see them about it. I thought that I had an appointment today, but I was just supposed to talk with a worker who wasn't in anyway. Well, that is enough for now, but I will keep posting. Guest guest
Well, I take Benadryl, not sure how to spell it, but that is what I take. When I wake up in the morning, I have to lay in my bed for about a half an hour, because my head hurts so bad, I can hardly move. I have had this for years. I use to jump out of bed, but I couldn't think, or get a since of direction, and would run into the wall, hurting myself some times. Now, I just wait until I can at least focus on where I am, before I get out of bed. Guest guest
Anyone have luck with sleep aids? I take 3 mgs of Klonopin and 45 mgs of Remeron before bedtime. I go right away to sleep without that sudden dropping off feeling that I don't like. I usually sleep well all night unless my pain is extremely bad then I keep waking up. I take my pain medication the first time I wake up and usually that will help me to finally get back to sleep but often it does not. When I was first diagnosed, (1997), I took 25mg of amitriptolene, then was switched to 25mg of nortriptolene (pamelor). My therapy also includes 75mg in the morning and early afternoon of Effexor. I've found that the Effexor gives me the energy to get through the day, and then I can sleep better at night. I also can use Sominex (OTC) sleep aid to get the rest I need. I'm trying to conserve my ambien since they are very expensive and I have no insurance coverage right now. I also started swimming a few laps daily and doing a bit of water aerobics, which helps to tire me out so that I don't have to take anything at bedtime, yet I'm feeling fully rested when I wake up. Guest guest
I had a sleep study, with the same results as you, a year before I knew it was attributed to Fibromyalgia. The diagnosis is called " Idiopathic Hypersomnia " Which means You are really tired and they don't know why. They prescribed Provigil (which didn't work) and then Ritalin and Ambien. The Ritalin has helped but not completely, and the Ambien made me so groggy the next day. I am now taking Trazadone and it has helped AMAZINGLY. Sincerely, Pamela Rauch sleep disorder without sleep apnea Does anyone have sleep problems diagnosed without sleep apnea. I got my sleep study results and my doctor first told me they were fine after glancing at the paper(he always does this). So I made him read them in detail and he said I have no stage 4 sleep, my stage 1 which is supposed to be like 12 minutes was 160 minutes long and the whole sleep cycle was 225 minutes, with barely any in REM. I don't have sleep apnea, nor do I snore even remotely. (I had emergency surgery a year and a half ago and the nurse thought I was dead, I was just sleeping peacefully) So needless to say I don't wake up feeling refreshed, I feel like I got hit by a truck. Psychologically this is really bad because I KNOW how I'm going to feel when I wake up so it's getting really hard to go to sleep. Why sleep when I feel ok now and I'll just wake up feeling worse and it takes all day to feel ok again? I've been thinking of taking a sleep aid like Ambien or possibly something else that would force Stage 4 sleep. Anyone have luck with sleep aids? Guest guest
I had a sleep study done 2 years ago. All they told me was I did sleep for about 1 hour. My O2 level got down to about 70-80% so they did put me on oxygen they said I never slept after that. Ive been on Trazadone/serzone to no luck. I feel the same as others have said about tired etc.
