Hi! I am sorry to hear of your wife's diagnosis. It is not something

that is easy to deal with, but the support of this group and others

helps. The most important support for your wife is you. Below is some

links to sites where you may find support in your area. If not let me

know and I can give you more.

Take Care,

Rhonda

support group needed

My wife has been recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. We are in

dire need of a support group in the Lower Alabama area. Is there

anyone that may know of one? I can't seem to find one on the web, so

I am hoping that someone may know of one

Hi,

I live in central Alabama. I too am in search of a support group. If

you find one, could you please let me know. I've contacted several

groups, but haven't heard anything from them as yet.

You're welcome! I can tell you support your wife, she is a lucky woman

to have you and your support. Seems the government doesn't support

anything that doesn't benefit them. How long will you be away? I hope

it's not too long. Does your wife (I don't think you mentioned her

name) have any family nearby? I know it's not the same as having

someone right there, but if she ever needs to talk she can email me or

the group.

Be safe.

We sure will. We don't know how long we'll be here.

I leave for Germany on Sunday and my wife will be

coming soon after. Theres one in Huntsville,

Tuskeegee and Tuscaloosa. Here is a number we found

to the Arthritis Foundation who sent us a list of

support groups by city:

I hope that helps.

Traci is my wifes name. I'll be in Germany for

another 2.5 years. Traci has family about 30 minutes

away, not close enough to take care of her many ER

visits. We have had to go 6 times since March. An

average of every two weeks. In any case, thanks for

your concern, it seems that thats all we can get these

days.

I am curious as to why Traci is unable to go to Germany with you. The only

reason why I am asking is because Germany is where my parents when when my dad

joined the service. In my previouse marriage, my ex-husband is also in the

service. He had gotten orders for Germany and we were also going. I was just

curious. If Traci wants someone to talk to she is welcome to e-mail me anytime.

Traci can't go yet. She is still experiencing

severe pain. She can't sit stand or lie down for more

than 30 minutes at a time. Making a 9 hour plane trip

would probably mean a few weeks in the hospital here

so she can be sedated. A one hour car ride hurts her

that night and the next day and sometimes the day

after. We just don't know how to control or manage it

yet. From what I hear the Germans are better at

treating Fibromyalgia than the States and we want to

be together. It may be 6 months before she feels she

can make the trip. Thanks for emailing me and I will

let Traci know about your offer.

Thanks
