Hi Jay

She should be tested for hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), I started out the same

way only having episodes once in a while then after having my 2nd child I

started having them several times a day and that is when I went to my doctor

around 4 months ago and I finally found out that I was hypoglycemic and also

that I have CFS/Fibro. Since then I have been getting info from groups and

reading as much as I can.

She should chart everything she eats and drinks and write down how she feels

after she eats/drinks so that she can figure out what triggers her blood sugar

drops or helps to maintain blood sugar levels.Because everyone is different and

what sets one person off may not set someone else off. caffeine, alcohol,

nicotine, etc these are also things that lower some peoples blood sugar

levels.Tell her to stay away from sugar, eat frequently like every 1-2 hours not

big meals but small ones with snacks in between. I personally have found that I

need to stay away from white carbs, but can handle whole wheat. And protein

helps me, nuts,cheese,etc.

There are several hypoglycemia yahoo groups if she wants to check them out to

get more info, I personally belong to hypo and hypoglycemia q & a. Also, I

recommend reading " The Low Blood Sugar Handbook " , I have not finished it yet but

it was recommended by a lot of people that I have met that have hypoglycemia.

I hope I helped a little.

anyone with low sugar experience

Over the weekend, my girlfriend ie experienced a low-sugar moment and

almost fainted.

She said she was shaking and clammy-cold - did not recover until consuming a

honeybun and diet coke.

She had eaten a peanut-butter sandwich before leaving the house, and that the

occurance took place about 20-30 minutes later.

She said that in the past, this would happen to her once or twice a year - now

she says that it seem like it occurs very frequently - is this part or fibro or

CFS, and does anyone have any suggestions on what to do about it?

Jay

Yes I have experienced tons of these, but I have been tested for low sugar

and I don't have enough of a problem for medication. I get the same way.

However I don't use the " junk food " I get a glass of Orange Juice. Like

diabetics do when their sugar drops. Then if that does not work I will

usually eat me a table spoon of crunchy Peanut butter. Lol granted I probably

look like a dog with P.B. under their teeth, but those two things usually

work. I hope this helps...

hi~ that had to be really scary for you. i have

developed hypoglycemia from the fibro, or in fibro

terms fibroglycemia. there is some information out

there on it. on top of the fibro diet i am also on a

glycemic index diet to try and regulate my sugar

levels. i always carry candy or something with me in

case something like that happens. i hope that your

girlfriend is doing much better. take care
