Guest guest
Hello Allicia, Sounds like the doctor wants you to continue being his patient:) And to increase your protein intake. This can be done on a fruit and veggie diet. Increase your beans and lentils, whey milk and wild yams is very good also. Green veggies can also increase your protein level just not as fast as the others. And red meat I can handle but only wild game. I read where red meat in the store has 5 synthetic drugs added to make it look more red and appetizing to us. I am thrilled for you parents!! What a rush it must be for them to be older and to actually increase their health!!! Praise God!! Your Mom sounds soooo cute!! And I can see her sneaking those yummy chocolate chip cookies! lol....lol Mick Allicia21@... wrote: In a message dated 08/05/2002 7:44:50 AM US Eastern Standard Time, paulafayem@... writes: > lessened my red meat intake I just got my tests results back from Rheumy today...she is claiming that my platelets are low...she said she isn't sure why, because RA factor isn't back yet, however I can not take Iron any kind at all...I get very very sick....severe tummy cramps, the poo's and I even HURL *( So she tells me I need to eat more red meat....I totally disagree with this. I have almost cut out all meat...Will occasionally eat chicken (can't stand fish) Everything I read says get rid of meat, dairy...and much more. What are your input on this? I am going to do my best. I am not sure about going off the meds, though, as I take them for a number of conditions and I don't know if it would be safe to go off them totally. I have diabetes, hypertension, hypothyroidism, allergies, ...just to name a few! I am definitely going to try increasing the fruits, vegetables, and whole grains and cut out all the processed foods. Hopefully that will make a big difference....thanks again! BTW...does anyone else have big time problems with heel pain? Mine can be excruciating....the bottom of the heel and the back of the heel. I am going to the podiatrist tomorrow to check it out. Hugs, Pat

Guest guest
no, but my pain in my foot is right in the arch of my foot....it seems that when I'm walking (doesn't do it all the time) that the muscle in my foot will tighten up soooo tight and it pulls very badly in that area. I usually have to sit down or stand still for a min. and let it loosen back up... You should see a doctor about that pain. It could be Morton's Neuroma. If you feel like you are walking on a lump in your shoe, that could be the cause. Morton's Neuroma is basically like Carpal Tunnel except in the foot. I had to have surgery but I did not have any problems after that was done.
