Guest guest Posted February 3, 2009 Report Share Posted February 3, 2009 I've noticed some messages about hearing loss and I doubt very much that they are drug-related, but you should be aware that several antibiotics can cause hearing loss. Given the fact that many of us are given some potent antibiotics during bouts with infection, you might want to read the information in the attachment. In my case, I was given gentamicin to battle the abscesses in and on my liver due to contamination during an ERCP. The "gent" not only did permanent damage to my vestibular function (balance), it also caused hearing loss in the two uppermost ranges bilaterally.
