Rob,

I had two stints but in in the last month....Your pain might be having a cholangitis attack...I'd call your DR ASAP....(are you on an antibiotics?) because I had a minor attack with the first one (chills, hot sweaty fever with mild pain) and I didn't take any antibiotic's....With the 2nd stent same thing (longer lasting chills, hot sweaty fever with mild pain) and this time I called the Dr and he couldn't believe that I had left the med center without antibiotic's..he gave me CIPRO 500 mg and everything was fine!

At least get some pain pills....

Hang in there...

Peace and Prayers

Rob,

I have had a stent since Oct 2006. It is changed every 3 months. I have a pain

mgmt dr. that my gastro sent me to for pain after my first ERCP resulted in

pancreatitis. He prescribes pain meds and monitors my RUQ pain as well as my

rheumatoid arthritis pain. My gut is pretty grumpy from all the interventions.

I also take daily antibiotics due to recurrent episodes of cholangitis. Since

the infections are better controlled my RUQ pain has decreased some.

I've had about 5 stents (one of which vanished out of my bile duct..

still wondering where that got to!), none of which have given me any

level of pain where i'd describe it as excrutiating. Most i've felt is

a slight bloated feeling, like someone's blown up a small balloon at

the bottom of my liver.

Seems very odd that it'd be hurting you so much, and doesn't sound

quite like it's been placed right! :(
