Actually (in my experience), if the sun is out, so are the

Norwegians! When we took my mother on the Hurtigruten from Trondheim to

Bergen, everyone seemed to be out in the deckchairs sunning, even though it was

only 50 F out!

Not so much in the winter, of course. The valley where my

family homestead is (Romsdal) loses the sun to the mountains in November, and

doesn’t reappear until late February.

interests me in this subject is that PSC seems to occur more in Scandinavia, an

area of the world that does not see a lot of sunlight, and when the sun appears

people are mostly covered in layers of clothes, thus not getting a lot of sun exposure…
