Thanks Liz!

First, though, did you get a masters in education at the Univ of Hartford a

few years back? I went to school with a Liz about 5 years ago when I

lived in Windsor.

I am glad to hear that another 16-year-old has been through the operation and

I guess you could say we want to know " everything. " I imagine it was scary

for all of you. Is she able to be a " normal teen " after the procedure?

Would it be OK for to email your daughter?

Thanks, Liz!

Debbie

Hi Joanne!

Centennial Beach! Yep, it's still here. It is a man-made " pool " and like

you described--it is made to look like a beach, all sandy, with different

levels, diving, etc.

Regards,

Debbie

<< No, I don't think it was a river - it was a manmade lake that was sandy

and beachy

at one end and deep at the other with diving boards. it was like a

pool/lake - it

was very nice. Perhaps it is not there anymore!!! Thanks for

responding. Joanne

I have heard about 2 teens who had the surgery. Pam Greer and her

daughter, , both had the surgery. Pam had to have hers reversed

because of problems but still is an advocate of the surgery and Dr.

R. has had some health problems but I'm not sure they are

related to surgery. Their e-mail address is " psgreer@... " .

Pam's story is very interesting. One of the main advantages to the

MGB is that if it needs to be reversed, it is relatively easy to do.

I believe Dr. R. says it takes about one hour and is done

laparoscopically. Pam's bypass was " undone " but her small stomach

remains -- there were problems with malabsorption.

Liz from Connecticut (Smitty) and her daughter and mother have all

had the surgery. The daughter had some problems because the family

doctor did not notify Dr. R that she was anemic before surgery. I

looked up her e-mail address but it didn't show the complete address

" smittyx@a.... "

I'm sure it would be helpful to talk to these people. Good luck to

you.

Hi .. can you tell me how to get to that beach in Naperville? I would

love to take the kids there for a day... a beach where nobody knows me...lol.

My local beach has all those women I went to school with that are wearing

their bikinis.. YUCK!
