We lived in Naperville for 11 yrs. and raised our family there. Enjoyed the

Riverwalk and the swimming pool, built where the old quarry used to be. (I

believe that's what the lady from LaGrange was referring to). I still miss

Naperville, too, although we moved to Westmont (IL) for 4 yr. before

relocating to Atlanta, GA, where we live now.

Good luck on your quest for this surgery for your daughter. I was chubby

from the age of 8 or 9 and it was not fun.

This is the City of Naperville swimming pool. It is concrete on the sides,

but has a large sandy beach type area where you enter the shallow end of the

pool and at the deep end are diving boards and the bottom at that end is not

concrete. It is sand. There used to be a quarry there years ago. It's a

great place to spend the day!

Hi !

Yep, I figured out it was indeed the pool--now called Centennial Beach--that

she was referring to. The Riverwalk has been expanded to the east (and even

a bit to the west) and the downtown has grown and changed. Parking is the

big concern now that the city center is jam-packed with shoppers, diners,

etc. After much debate and many meetings, the city council has approved a 5

level parking garage. The 2nd high school has been built, at a cost of 65

million dollars, making it the most expensive in the nation. Looks more like

a college campus than a HS, IMO. There are 20-some grade schools, and

neighborhoods still being built for several more years. I've never lived in

such a large place with such a " small town " feel. Hope life in Atlanta is

good. The second time we moved from IL (Elmhurst) we moved to Louisville

and I loved the " southern ways! "

<< We lived in Naperville for 11 yrs. and raised our family there. Enjoyed

---Hi ,

Yes Elisabeth did present at birth similar to your little one

but she did not experience either the klebsiella of RSV. She had her

surgery 24 hours after birth and then was in the hospital 2 months.

When she was released- we has two monitors, a feeding pump and an

Oxygen machine to take home with us. A week to the day after she got

home the monitors started going beserk and we took her into the

emergency room about midnight. She had developed aspirated Pneumonia.

so was in almost 3 weeks to clear that up. We found out she has some

pretty severe reflux during that time. She has been hospitalized 2x

since- as I said after " family holidays " . But come this January it

will be 2 years since a hospitalization!!!! : )

Noooo I do not think you are a crazed mother- you sound like a

very concerned mother who wants the best for her child and there is

absolutely NOTHING wrond with that!!!!! Yes, the social isolation

can be tough sometimes I know. I hope this list proves to be one of

the ways to help that a little. The parents and grandparents here

that deal with CF day in and day out can relate sometimes better than

even our own family members. I know if I am talking about medically

related CF stuff with one my foster sisters it mostly goes over her

head : ) lol.

Dont know if any of that helped : ). Have a great day and give

your little one a big hug : )

Hi! First of all I'd like to say I've never posted to the group, but I have

responded to some of the e-mail.

I have Chiari and found out in March 2003, I'm going in for Decompression (

I hope to say goodbye to all the pain, most of it anyway) on Wednesday May

28( I'm really scared) I've read a lot about other surgeries and everyday I

read the posts.

I want to thank you all for being such a great group of people, my thoughts

and prayers are always with each and everyone of you. Wish me luck(I know

I'll be fine, just a little scared)

LOL,

H. from Idaho

Hi! First of all I'd like to say I've never posted to the group, but I have

responded to some of the e-mail.

I have Chiari and found out in March 2003, I'm going in for Decompression (
