I just looked at a picture of hyperpigmentation online. I was curious if there

was one available and sure enough, it was. I have one brown spot on my right

cheek. It's been there for quite some time now. Years actually? I don't know

what made it come up, or when it actually appeared. I do remember running into

an old co worker at the Post office one day and she had this bad. She stated

that it was because she'd had a hysterectomy and I never thought any different

about her explanation. Very interesting. Should be quite interesting to see

what people's experiences with this are. I look like I have this one dirty spot

on my face that is somewhere about the size of a quarter. No make up covers it

up, it's too brown? I tried taking Delta for the adrenals but stopped. I felt

hyper when on it.

Hyperpigmentation & adrenal deficiency

I believe one of the classic signs of adrenal insufficiency is supposed to

be hyperpigmentation. I've had a doctor say I didn't have adrenal

insufficiency because I didn't have hyperpigmentaion. Has anyone here with

adrenal insufficiency ever had hyperpigmentation or know if it's a relevant

sign?

Betty, I just had to look up that word, Melasma, and it's caused by

sun exposure.

I wonder if they are caused by interaction of BOTH - hormone (including adrenal

hormone) imbalance AND the sun exposure on skin that doesn't have it's optimal

hormone balance??

One of the other good skin signs is very easy bruising, i mean like

finding bruises and not even knowing what they are from.

I just responded to this a minute ago but something else that falls

under hyperpigmentation is new scars that remain brown, scars are

suppose to be pink or white.
