Cindy,

I think your INR/HCT checked. My

mother takes Plavix and aspirin and doesn’t have that much of an issue

with bleeding. Just prior to my transplant my INR was too high and I

pulled an IZV out of my arm and I did not use more than a couple of tissues and

a band aid.

I would have it checked out.

My clotting and INR #'s have been great/normal as

long as I have been dx with PSC. I basically just have severe extreme

itching...and with that comes scratching, opening up sores, etc.

Last night, I had a pinpoint scab on my neck that

itched and I scratched it and blood started pouring out of it. By the

time I jumped off the couch and made it to the bathroom, my hand was full of

blood. I used about 20 kleenex's, ice cubes and 45 minutes later

finally got the bleeding to stop. If that didn't scare me, today while

at work on the phone, my upper arm itched and I scratched. I didn't think

I scraped open a scab, but I felt the wetness from blood and when I looked

blood was pouring down my arm. Needless to say I am freaked out now

because during the night and subconsciously I am scratching everywhere and am

afraid I will hit another bleeder. I have called my transplant

coordinator and left a message about that and whether I need some bloodwork

drawn.

Has anybody else had

these similar experiences. Normally I don't freak about bleeding, but

this wasn't normal and the amt of blood last night was enough to make me

lightheaded.

Hi Cindy,

Right now I'm going through a brutal amount of itching and my legs and arms look like a war zone..

The pain is really bad the next morning when I get up because my skin has been so raw.

It seems the bleeding is bad and the worst part is I don't realize how much I'm scratching at night.

I am going to try wearing gloves to bed to see if that helps...

Regards,Alison

I had purchased these mitts for using in the bathtub and they have an exterior for exfoliating....they work great if I keep them on and they help scratch without tearing the skin...only problem is, during the night sometime...they are removed.
