Guest guest
You know, these ranges aren't set in cement. They change as knowlege is gained, as with TSH ranges. Ranges can be a useful *guide*, but should always be taken in tandem with symptoms. Laurie FT levels Does anyone who has their symptoms under control and is feeling well know their FT levels? I'm just curious if anyone is actually over the upper limit of the range and not hyper.

Guest guest
I took my Armour before the last appt which wasn't smart on my part. The T3 freaked the dr out because mine was 515 and shouldn't have been over 420. FT4 was a little under the range. I have no hyper symptoms with that either so I don't stress. It's just not good to take armour before the bloodwork. Makes the dr's crazy. FreeT3 that is at the upper range or even over doesn't scare me unless symptoms are abounding. I haven't had hyper symptoms in quite a long time. SandyE~Houston FT levels Does anyone who has their symptoms under control and is feeling well know their FT levels? Guest guest
Actually the majority of ATA docs that give T4 only treatment reccomend keeping patients FT4 levels very high in range or upto 20% over the range. > > Does anyone who has their symptoms under control and is feeling well > know their FT levels? > > I'm just curious if anyone is actually over the upper limit of the > range and not hyper. Guest guest
I found it on NACB 2002 thyroid guidelines. It was on the part about TSH. I don't know what the url is for that. It says ft4 should be in the upper 1/3 of the range. Guest guest
http://www.thyroidmanager.org/algorithms/algorithm8.htm You have to read the statement under the algorythium. and also the FTE stands for free thyroxine equailivlent, which is any test the gives FT4. Take it with a grain of salt but in all honesty mosdt docs do not even follow this slightly more logical thinking. > >Actually the majority of ATA docs that give T4 only treatment > >reccomend keeping patients FT4 levels very high in range or upto 20% > >over the range. > > Hey, , do you have a source for that?
