Guest guest
Hi Your case is similar to mine. I was denied twice and then I appealed to judge You should and must appeal for judicial hearing. I did not hire a lawyer. My husband helped me out filing forms and compiling all the medical records and medication. It took six months or more, so be petient. If you have any question, let me know. Sushma ssn disability and hearing Hi, everyone and welcome to all the newbies. I have a question. I've applied for my disability and I've been turned down twice, now I'm going to have my case heard by a judge. They said that I didn't have to go, but should I? I never know how I'm going to feel from day to day and I hate to say that I'm going to be there and then be sick and have to go anyway. Or, would that be a good thing? Has anyone been in front of one of theses judges before? Help, what should I do. By the way I haven't gotten a laywer yet. I didn't want to have to share my money with anyone else if I could do it on my own. I hope everyone has a pain-free day!! It's raining here, ugh..stiff bones!!!!!!!!! After I got my second denial and knew I was going in front of a judge, I got a lawyer. In the long run, even though I had to share my money, to me it was well worth it. The lawyer did most of the talking, even though the judge did ask me questions. Good luck, I will pray you get it. Guest guest
I've also had a hearing for my daughter and am facing one myself. In both cases I got a lawyer. In my daughter's case, it wasn't necessary, she was totally out of it and ended up throwing up on the Administrative Law Judge, even though I was trying to calm her with brushing and joint compression. We won that case. Now I have to go for myself, and am still waiting for a date. I'm glad I have my lawyer, because I really am not as good arguing for myself as I am the kids, and because I really feel I have enough to worry about with my health issues, so am glad SHE is the one thinking about it and handling communication and gathering info from the doctors and so on... > In a message dated 8/20/04 8:59:01 AM Pacific Daylight Time, > nursealso@c... writes: > > << Has anyone been in front of one of theses judges before? Guest guest
I agree! My husband got his disability by going & talking to our Congressman. After his office got involved it didn't take long at all before he got his check. They (SSD) did send him to 1 of their dr.s, a psychiatrist, but it didn't take long 'til the dr.s was sure he should be approved. I would recommend anyone to al least contact their congressman's office once before getting a lawyer. It is your money, after all. -- ssn disability and hearing I hate lawyers!!!!! Sometimes it’s best to do it yourself. I got my disability without one.
