Guest guest
I may be mistaken, but I seem to recall that most " licorice " these days is artifically flavored. You might check the packaging of your favorite treats. Jeez, we give us so many things due to this illness, I hope that you can find some licorice that will satisfy you and not cause problems! Guest guest
athan, This is interesting, people in Scandinavian countries and in Holland eat a lot of licorice. I think in Sweden it is called Salmiak or something like that, and in Holland we call it Drop. The thing is that in these countries PSC is also more prevalent. I am not saying that licorice is the cause, but maybe it accelerates liver disease. I love licorice, especially the very salty ones. I stopped eating them since I know I have PSC since too much salt dehydrates. But it is entirely possible that I ate too much licorice before that. I think that most is artificially flavored now, but it's probably best to be sure before eating large amounts if you have liver disease! athan
