I may be mistaken, but I seem to recall that most " licorice " these days is

artifically flavored. You might check the packaging of your favorite treats.

Jeez, we give us so many things due to this illness, I hope that you can find

some licorice that will satisfy you and not cause problems!

From Wikipedia:

" Excessive consumption of liquorice or liquorice candy is known to be

toxic http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toxicity> to the liver

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liver>^[16] "

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Licorice#cite_note-15>

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Licorice

There are other health concerns with excessive licorice consumption. I

think that most is artificially flavored now, but it's probably best to

be sure before eating large amounts if you have liver disease!

I think the licorice problem is geared more toward some liver " treatments " that

include licorice as an herbal liver tonic. For instance, Milk Thistle " Xtra " by

Sundown contains licorice. (and fennel and dandelion) Snake oil? Probably. At

least we can probably have the candy!
