Guest guest
Kate, I followed a protocol outlined by Beth Ley, author of The Forgotten Nutrient, as well as that of Rich Distributors MSM information. There is an abundance of research, including the Ley booklet and free information, available at the following web site: www.richdistributing.com. I originally ordered MSM from this site but have switched to the Member's Mark brand from Sam's Club. It is much more economical and just as effective for me. I take mine 3x day....just like my Armour. It is a natural substance and does NOT interfere with meds & supplements. For optimal MSM utilization, it is recommended to take vit. C as well. Also, at one time I tried the MSM powder mixed in juice/water. YUCK! This stuff is really bitter (as are the pills if you taste them) and was not worth the $ savings to me. After all, it IS Sulfur! I'm certain there is much more info available if you google MSM. ************************************************************* > Can you outline how, when, how much? > Kate
Guest guest
I have taken the powder and agree it's hard to take! But maybe I should give it another try. How much you took. I remember I could see a big difference in my fingernails which are falling apart again since I stopped. Guest guest
I started taking 500mg/day and worked up to taking 4000mg/day in divided doses. I eventually backed down to 2000mg (1000mg AM &PM)for maintenance. Joint pain was my initial reason to take it. BIG BONUS: within a short period of time my chronic viral mouth/cold sores and yeast infection were gone. I was un-Dx'd hypo then but did notice some improvement in hair texture and rate of growth. My nails became strong & grew fast again, too. AND the joint pain lessened. I believe our need/dosage for this supplementation is very individual. Interesting - MSM use evolved from veterinary medicine DMSO protocol. And of course, the medical " guessperts " fought its marketing until they could not longer deny the results.
