actually...the psychologists and psychiatrists who are handing out

Some psychologists might be PhDs, but the PhD doesn't give them legal

authority to dispense drugs, and I don't believe they dispense drugs on

their own authority. Maybe they have an arrangement with a psychiatrist or

other doctor to have drugs dispensed under the psychiatrist's name.

Psychiatrists are M.D.s or D.O.s and those are the degrees that would

qualify them for a state license to allow them to legally dispense or

prescribe drugs. So I still maintain that it's not the PhDs that we should

be making digs at, it's the M.D.s.

Not that I'm disputing your charge of arrogant and ignorant medical

professionals.

that is correct...but like said, they often partner with someone to make sure

those patients get those drugs.

ya know...i may be stepping on toes with someone here...but in my almost 50

years...I've never met a PhD person who wasn't arrogant and egotisical....and

many not that bright...although some very smart in their particular field, but

no common sense. that's sorta sad I think. but that's my experience.

Just so you know, there are PhDs on this list. *conspiratorial wink*

I work with scads of them every day and while there are some jerks,

I find most college professors (yes, that's a hint) to be wonderful,

interesting, normal people.

Probably, though, I should trade the word 'normal' for the

word 'eccentric'. But I LIKE eccentric. Normal is boring. :D

My dad has a PhD, but it's in engineering, which is a " real " science.

He's a great guy and smart as a whip, but he's very much the exception.

Most of his " professional " friends have the flavor of a water chestnut,

as far as I'm concerned. In the vast majority of cases, I think you're

right.
