Wow what a couple of days! I've been trying to log on to post an update for the past few days. First I couldn't get on Caring Bridge and then I couldn't seem to get the internet at all to cooperate with me.

Anyway, we finally got the results of the biopsy that was done on Friday and the ERCP which was done on Monday. Both were fine and showed nothing significant. There was a minor stricture in one of the blie ducts but they were able to dilate it and it opened right up.

His INR is still a little high and they're not sure why. His liver numbers are better, but not perfect yet. The docs seem to think they're heading in the right direction though.

We're going home today finally! Yay! They are sending him home with some Vitamin K which should help with his blood clotting issues. They're discontinuing the Septra. They said sometimes in rare occasions it can cause liver numbers to go up and in patients where there is no other obvious cause, they just discontinue the Septra. In place of it however, now he has to get this awful, toxic breathing treatments once a month. They had to kick Skylar and I out of the room yesterday for an hour. Apparently folks who are immunosuppressed are at increased risk for a certain type of pneumonia and these treatments will help keep him from getting pneumonia.

Dr. Friddell said that the reason for the continued ascities is because his portal hypertension was out of control pre transplant so it's just going to take his new liver a little while to catch up. In Dr. Friddell's words, he got a porsche of a liver...I told he got a porsche and a Mercedes. That's as close to either as he'll ever get so he better enjoy them! :)

They've got his paper work ready to get us out of here. He's got some sort of infusion going so we have to wait until it's done and then we'll be out of here-until Friday morning. He has to come back for labs. But at least we don't have to be here for clinic at 7 in the morning!

I told Dr. Friddell he gave us the best anniversary present ever (tomorrow's our 4 year anniversary). :)To send a message to  Bobbi and family goto;
