Cheryl,

I see a pain doctor. My case doesn't sound half as complicated as yours so you

might have a different experience but I have found my dr. to be very helpful.

Of course my pain dr. prescribes pain medicine but much to my surprise he has

helped with nausea and sleep issues as well. He even helped me to avoid

altitude sickness when I went to Peru last fall. He has been very attentive to

any issue that has caused me discomfort.

I'm not sure if your dr will have the same strategy as mine. I think I got

lucky with this him. Hope your visit goes well.

Darcy

Darcy,

Thank you. I do appreciate hearing your experience. I'm not definitely going to

the pain doctor, the nurse said the doctor wanted me to go see him. I told the

nurse that I would like to talk it over with the doctor first. I will be more

open to the suggestion now that I know your experience. I am having a heck of a

time right now. I see my PCP tomorrow. I need to write down a list of questions

because I have a bunch. I have been seeing so many doctors lately for different

problems, but because of the liver disease and other health issues that we have

to cover, all my appointments have been running overtime. I don't get my

questions answered and some issues are left for the next visit. I have tried to

warn the person scheduling that I will need extra time, but so far they aren't

really acting on it. I just bought a new book and I am loving it. HOW DOCTORS

THINK by Jerome Groupman, MD. whether it is my fault or the doctors' fault I

have got to find a better way to communicate with

doctors---my life depends on it. I saw the ENT who has definitively diagnosed me

with Relaping Polychondritis. One of the tests he ran to rule out another

disease, surprisingly came back indicating I have a massive amount of protein in

my urine. I was hoping it wouldn't be too serious, but the doctor is quite

concerned and is calling my Rheumatologist to have some follow up tests, etc. He

really thinks its Wegener's Granulamatosis. This was the disease they were

ruling out. So he thinks I have both. This is very discouraging. I'll post what

PCP says tomorrow. Thanks again, Cheryl ID, PSC
