Guest guest
JEEZ it just dawned on me JUST a minute ago that this Sunday is Easter. Where have I been? I know I have been spacey lately but I have never let a MAJOR grooming holiday creep up on me this bad. I didn;t even get a card for my Mom... BAD GIRL.... Anyway back to the question I need to ask. Has anyone ever experienced diarrhea REALLY bad and long term from antibiotics? I need to know if there is something I can do or eat that will help put some good flora back where it belongs to straighten my system out. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, " You're next. " They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals

Never knew dehydration made your mind space out before but I guess I never got this dehydrated before. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes? Guest guest
I got my acidophilus at the grocery store, in the health food section. The probotics I got from the local ND's office without having to see anyone, do you have one of those nearby? I need to know if there is something I can do or eat that will help put some good flora back where it belongs to straighten my system out. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV It's not uncommon for people taking antibiotics to develop Clostridium difficile (c. diff), which has diarrhea as a primary symptom. Primal Defense by Garden of Life is a probiotic that many people on the Healing Crow yahoo group say has been effective for them. It's pricey, however, but it does seem to work. There are many place to get it online, but I think www.vitaminshoppe.com is a good place. Lynn

Guest guest
Lynn you hit the nail on the head. I just looked this intestinal bug up and Clindamycin is a number one causative agent and that is the antibiotic I was on. Joy.. something else to screw me up! LOL I will look in the grocery store today for something... hopefully there will be something there or at the pharmacy that will help. I do have some anti-spasmodics from the doctor that I never took.. He prescribed them when I had MUSCLE spasms over my ribcage! LOL They might be useful for this. It is MUCH better than it was just with the Pedialyte and Yogurt so I think it will go away on it's own but if I can help it along I will. I can;t afford the Primal Defense... At least not unless this lasts past the first of the month when I pay all my rents. If I am still having problems then I will order some. I also read Metronidazole is prescribed for this and I can probably get that too. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes? Guest guest
Hello, I totally agree about the Garden of Life products being pricey. I went to the local whole foods in my area and spent a whopping $430 on about eight or ten of the items, but I went to the website Garden of Life and they have different websites that offer their product at a discount. I have never been to the vitamin shop, but you can compare prices. Just a thought...Also just a FYI. I have been following the regimen from the books and I really feel better. I mean the best that I could have felt before I got the Armour. Now I will see what happens next... Bye, Rockette --- Kerry klb58@...> wrote: > ooooh...thanks Lynn! Guest guest
I think the poor woman's probiotic is kefir. Once you have the " grains " to get started with, the only other expense is the cost of milk. Kefir has a multiplicity of natural probiotics in a much greater complex than what is found in yogurt. Unfortunately what's available commercially is of minimum value, so do-it-yourself incubation is the best way to go. Lynn > I can't afford the Primal Defense...
