Guest guest
Egad! - I chuckle or laugh out loud at almost every one of your posts! (Except the poignant ones.) I guess my post did sound a bit ominous, huh? Helping me doesn't actually have dire consequences, I think you are safe even while you are on your holiday into dangerous family territory without internet contact. I showed DH and he laughed out loud at your reply, too! He's another rare exception to Cindi's right-on assessment of PhDs. [Cindi, you're right, though, most PhDs are PITA (esp. psychologists who are impressed with their own titles).] But DH's PhD is in math. Everyone calls him by his first name (except DD) -or people who only know of his work. He was a Regents' Scholar in New York, so he does know his stuff and a lot of everyone else's stuff to go with it! Not a mean bone in his body. Still, it's a good thing he has me to give him perspective and common sense, and to relieve him of the awesome responsibility of that remote control. .... ----- Original Message ----- From: Ross, R I certainly hope you haven't found me to be helpful! :-) -- prr " Mateosian " Cjoi@...> Like many of the mysterious " helpers " who have helped to save me only to vanish. For example, both radiologists died within 6 months of finding my tumor. ....
Guest guest
Yes, I think the smartest ones (PhDs) are smart enough to have a little humility. LOL BTW, the super intelligent person lacking social skills is my DD. Very very very indicative of Asperger's or something with the unfortunately misleading name of Nonverbal Learning Disabilty. Both describe my very lonely kiddo. Both, unfortunately often born of hypothyroid moms with autoimmune diseases. .... ----- Original Message ----- From: Kerry I have to apologize for what I said about PhD's and common sense, everyone seems to have an exception...LOL In my own experience, which is limited at best, the one super intelligent person I have come across couldn't function socially at all, and basically had to be hand held at every social function.argh. Thankfully he moved 3,000 miles away is now someone else's problem. Now if I could just get the remote out of my youngest daughter's hand, we would almost have world peace! Guest guest
Cindi- Now you've really made me laugh! True DH is humble and kind but who said anything about " normal " ?!
