Guest guest
TSH was in range so my health plan would not authorize other levels. I can't find what the TSH was...sorry. Is this something I should get done on my own to determine thyroid involvement? > In a message dated 3/28/2005 11:23:21 PM Eastern Standard Time, > james@L... writes: > > > However, my naturopath (no thyroid-literate MDs in my area) believes I > > don't have a lot of thyroid involvement; she thinks it is mostly > > adrenals. > > > > do you know what your thyroid hormone levels are? > cindi > > >

Guest guest
Many folks like yourself have to go it on your own. And the way to do that is to use the labs which don't require a prescription, and do the free T3 and free T4. You can also choose to do the 24 hour adrenal saliva test. Check the LINKS section. ZRT and Great Smokies. If I am assuming you are a guy, guess I don't need to tell you to do your female hormones, right? Ferritin is also a good plan. Maybe some of your mercury got stirred up and settled in the brain, or settled in the thyroid? I believe low temp, exhaustion, and mental confusion can also be symptoms of mercury toxicity. Are you currently taking any thyroid supplementation? Lynn

Guest guest
I don't doubt that mercury is at the root of the problem, but for the time being I can't tolerate any chelators in Cutler's or Klinghardt's protocols. The only hormonal supplement I am on currently is 50mg DHEA in the AM. My naturopath wants to start me on Isocort soon, but because I am so drained, she is attempting to build me up some first. > > From: " L. Guest guest
Lynn...thanks for the site to sort out whether adrenals or thyroid are at the root of the problem. I did the self test and scored an even number on adrenal, mixed, and thyroid. Interesting.... I guess I'll have to get my own T3 and T4 tests done, but it does seem that I have dual involvement probably caused by moving mercury around during chelation. However, I still don't know if adrenals or thyroid are primary....maybe I don't need to know but just need to treat both. Are there any problems with just treating both at the same time? > > From: " L. I would get some baseline tests first to try and determine what is the problem. But if you have problems with both your adrenal and thyroid, neither one will get better unless you do treat them both at the same time.
