Guest guest
> Those with low ferretin leves, what have you done about it that has worked well? Taking LARGE doses of Ferrous Sulfate (with food) finally helped me, and staying on it. I chose Ferrous Sulfate because I'm cheap and it's cheap. LOL. I took 2-3 of the 325 mg. Ferrous Sulfate to get my Ferritin up, and I stay on one tab daily to maintain. Otherwise, it falls. Other iron supplements can work but the bottom line is that you have to be willing to take a lot. Guest guest
Friday, be careful with the comments of your new doc. Low Ferritin does not necessary correct itself when you correct female hormonal problems. It can be related to other yet unknown issues, and seems to be common with many hypo folks. Even though I am on an optimal dose of Armour, and have corrected most of my female issues, my Ferrtin will fall if I stop my iron supplement. It would be great if I could find out the cause, but so far, it's a mystery. Janie > > I talked to my new doc about this one.
