Hi all! Yesterday was indeed 's two year anniversary. We are so

blessed! His health is so much improved. We are able to do things and

go places now. I've stopped carrying around our " hospital " bag that

was always in our car. It's amazing! We are so thanksful for the

donor family and thought of them all day yesterday. His last labs

showed that most of his numbers were darn near normal. We still think

about and keep an eye on the portal vein thrombosis, but it hasn't

given us any problems. I rarely check this board, which is a sign that

everything is going great, but I still think about and pray for each

one of you who is going through this disease.

At the time we were still in the other hospital. So, as I was running around getting ready and calling everyone, had the nurses discharge him and we were on our way.The surgery began at 1:00 pm. I always thought there was a hurry,

but apparently not. Anyway, they finished at around 7 pm. The surgeon said everything went fabulous, but he did have a lot of scar tissue from his J pouch surgeries. He is in SICU of course and still on a vent. He will be going back into surgery tomorrow to remove some blood clots from his abdomen. My goodness, I have never seen so many iv lines in all my life! But the nurses are wonderful and I get to go seem him anytime between 10 am and 5 pm and again from 8:30 pm unitl 10pm. I just checked into a motel and am heading back over to the hospital in just a bit. I knew all of you would want to hear the good news. Please pray for us that there will be few complications. I still feel like I am in a dream!wife of UC and PSC 2000J pouch 2004Transplant November 18, 2006!!!!!!!! !

My husband, Colin, was greatly helped by hepatologist, Dr. Leonard Goldstein at Dumont-UCLA Transplant Center in Westwood. His phone number is . Colin was diagnosed with PSC in 1990. He was put on the liver transplant list in 1998. Because Dr. Goldstein decided to hospitalize him at the end of March, he was in the right place at the right time to get a liver transplant on April 11, this year. Jackie Colleran probably also can give you information. Her phone number is . She does a lot of volunteer work promoting liver transplant. This is my first post.
