Guest guest
athan, I am glad to hear you got good news from the colonoscopy results. Thank goodness for that. I hope to hear positive updates about your talk with Vanderbilt. Sending you prayers and positive vibes! in MO. son, Nick(9)liver disease Subject: Good and bad newsTo: Date: Thursday, April 9, 2009, 5:09 AM Bad news first: A couple days ago, I suddenly got severe URQ pain, radiating into my shoulder. It was bad enough that I was rolling around on the floor for a while! After it started to subside a bit, I got myself together and called Vanderbilt. They said I should see my PCP and get labs run. Well, my family doctor got me in really quick, and I did get the labs run... by then the pain was mostly gone, but I got a call back from them yesterday to say that I had elevated white count and my liver function tests were elevated. I have no idea what it might be, and I'm waiting to hear from Vanderbilt what they want me to do. Right now I feel fine, and don't have any "liverish" symptoms so hopefully whatever it is has gone away! I did have another episode very similar to this, although not as bad about a year ago, and that didn't seem to do any permanent damage, but it's still worrying to have high LFTs after transplant!Good News: I had a colonoscopy yesterday, and got a very good report. No sign of colitis anywhere in my colon so the VSL#3 must be doing it's job! I knew I'd been feeling pretty good, but it's nice to have it officially confirmed.I should hear back from Vanderbilt today, so I'll keep updating on what they say!athan

Guest guest
Well, I had more blood work run yesterday, and it looks better than it did on Tuesday, but still a bit elevated. I was running a low grade fever last night too, so something's going on. I think they're still suspecting rejection and want me to come over and get a CT scan etc. at Vanderbilt on Monday. Does anyone know what liver function pattern would be expected during rejection? My white count is high and so are ALT and AST, but everything else is normal. I couldn't find any specifics on what would be expected during rejection. athan
