Yes, a 10 is too high. Also check Free T4 and Free T3. Cindi

Guest guest
Oh this is so sad. With proper medication she MIGHT be able to get her periods back and even become fertile. But Endos are not the doctors to do it unfortunately. I am assuming that 10 that her thyroid is is a TSH result? If so that is very high and she definitely needs meds for this, not only to get her periods back but to feel well. I would be in the phone to every doctor in the area asking about treatment with Armour Thyroid. Also ask if they treat by symptoms instead of relying strictly on labs. She needs to have her Free T3 and Free T4 tested as well as Ferritin and thyroid antibodies. There are labs where she can order her own testing for these things! Guest guest
Thanks for your reply, . I am going to go with her to the doctor and see if I can ask some of these questions. She said she was so nervous when she was in his office that she didn`t really get to say much. I know he is doing more labs. I will go to the site for doing her own labs and see what it is about. This is supposed to be the best thyroid (endo) in our town. I would be willing to take her to Dallas , Fort Worth ,or Austin, Texas to get help. If anyone has any names of docs ,please share. Thanks again . Donna
