I got the cuddle ewe, it smelled really bad, was lumpy and settled so

much in a month I had to send it back. I found a latex pad, about 2 or 3 "

thick we put on a waveless water bed and its WONDERFUL! I no longer have

the pressure point pain, I use pillows around me for a place to lay my

leg or arm.

I'm sure some like their pad but the chemically smell was bad enough by

itself, I don't even use chemicals in my laundry since you breathe it all

night.

My Mom swears by her magnet pad but it was way too expensive, I tried it

for a week when we visited but it made me feel worse.

My Mom has one of the mattress pads that a company in Japan has created

with a special type of magnet, not like the refridgerator bi-polar

magnet. its supposed to help her circulation and promote healing. I was

told that the reason I felt worse was that I was " detoxing " but I know

they type has helped a lot of people just as the cuddle ewe has.

I searched the internet for natural mattress pads. I found the Isotonic

from JC Penny for around $150 and it worked great for 3 months till it

lost its rebound at the heavy places but they were kind enough to refund

my money. I could not see paying for the tempur-pedic that is called

swedish foam memory pad advertized in magazines.

I'm highly functional with my FM but the pressure of a mattress or one

knee laying on the other all night causes pain but the latex pad on the

water bed is a dream. the kids love to hop up there (it makes a tall

bed)and read stories or still get their nightly backrubs even though they

are teens!

body posture at night is important, putting a pillow under your knees

when you sleephelps take the pressure off the back muscles, not too many

pillows under your head to over extend the muscles allowing the anterior

muscles to contract over time. when you turn on your side its good to

have a pillow there for the top leg to rest on so it does not put

pressure on the other leg and constict circulation. it seems like a lot

of pillows but I've done this since I was pregnant and the size of a

whale. I got used to working with them in my sleep as I changed position.

we did get a king size bed so my husband has room to sleep bless his

heart. the pillow in the middle keeps me from rolling into him all night

since he's bigger than I am and we're used to it.

the bedroom is an important place to have work for you. a comfortable bed

and quiet (I run an air cleaner to drown out noises) and keep it free of

allergens. g regularly with a litely damp cloth and NO chemical

sprays or perfumes to breath all night, washing linens in HOT water to

kill the mites and reducing distractions of TV, piles of work,

computers...having it a place to really restore. I hung lace curtains on

the sides of the bed that are easy to take down to wash but its a simple

look of a " resort " or place to escape. in my meditations its easier to

use it as my " safe " place.

look on the internet for " natural latex pad " or variations and see what

they say about the topper pads. they are a bit hard to find at first,

you'll get lists of just the cotton pads. getting one that is tall enough

to last you is important so when you lie down you are still supported,

there are levels of density to pick from so call their company and ask

questions. be sure you have a money back if you think it may be an issue.

this latex pad said it WOULD have a bit of smell and it did go away

promptly like they said. it was from the packing material so I just put

it in the garage to let it air.

mind body approaches help, we do classes about letting go of stress

before retiring, the importance of journaling to let it go help it heal.

and don't take medications that interfere with stage 4 sleep, the time

when the body makes new cells.

so rest well, its how your body heals!
