I'm pretty sure I have some adrenal fatigue - when I first wake up I

feel very hot, and same when I first go to bed, or when I get

stressed during the day. Also if I exercise, I get very hot &

sweaty. Not on an optimal dose of Armour yet, and the increases are

going very slowly. So, should I still exercise? Or should I stop and

wait until I get closer to optimal Armour? Is the exercise causing

more stress to the adrenals?

Dear Joyce,

In adrenal fatigue, some doctors say to forget excercise. Others say

to break it up into short 10 minute sessions spread out in the day.

And, some say that you should not do strenuous excercise, but

something much more moderate and low key. It really all depends on

your capacity and how much your adrenals can handle. It is not good

for the adrenals to be over stressed with excercise. It interferes

with their recovery because it depletes them of their stores and

they do not have the capacity to catch up, so it leaves them

constantly struggling to do their job. This has been shown to weaken

them further by the researcher Hans Seyle.

So, you need to determine what you can safely do that does not give

you cnsequences later. You can also temporarily do adrenal support

for excercise. In other words you can provide the hormones you need

just for the excercise in order that you can keep doing what you are

doing without depleting your adrenals. I used to take 3 IsoCorts

about 20 minutes before excercise. My former doctor, a hyp himself,

would use 10 mg of cortef just before going to the gym. He was on

all T3 and this made more work for his adrenals.

Anyway, you can figure out what dose will get you through the

excercise without consequences. This should not make you dependent,

especially if just used a few times a week.

If you don't want to do this, then, you will have to figure out how

much you can do that does not make you suffer.
