Sheriden,A PSC diagnosis is hard. It is so rare and presents so differently in each of us that have been diagnosed. Maybe some of the pictures of Chris's old versus new liver would help. Also I see your now a friend of Jan Nitchman on facebook. Her profile picture shows before his transplant

Ian (52) PSC 89

My husband is not only in denial of psc he thinks the dr is just guessing he has that. He said he is not going to the dr anymore and he is just done with them. I might be able to get him for one more blood work. How can he think the way he does, I don't understand. He wont do any research on it and just thinks its no big deal. He had his bile ducts opened up over 4yrs ago and that was the last time he said he will ever have that done. I am frustrated and thanks for all your input I am just at wits end. Thanks

Hi – Some folks just won’t/can’t look at reality until they are

at their rope’s end. My hubby was like that with lung cancer. He was gonna get

well, period. I told him that if he was scared and wanted to talk I was there

for him and he said, “Why would I want to do that?” When push came to shove, he

said, “I’m scared, stay with me.”

Fortunately, with PSC you can be pretty darned sick and come

back with a liver transplant.

Hi,

My husband, , was diagnosed with PSC in 2007 and he won't do any research or

do anything to find out about his disease. At first it bothered me, however, I

had to just let it go and understand that he deals with things the way they work

best for him. I, on the other hand, cannot get enough information and knowledge

about all of his issues, and he has many. I tell him what he wants to know and

what I think he should know. However, I pay close attention and I can see when

he's had enough information.

It really helped when I just let him deal with it in his own way. It makes us

both feel better. I wish you well and hope you quickly get to a place that

works for both of you.

LOVE & LIGHT,

Barbara (Wife of , PSC'07, HE, Chronic Pancr, Osteo, Diabetes, Listed)

How can he think the way he does, I don't understand. He wont do any research on

it

and just thinks its no big deal.
