“I know how it feels to be considered mental about

ones health” Amen to that MM!!!

I can’t tell you how many years I was told it was my

nerves and such things like that! One Dr. told me I think

Too much about myself!! Those are the times I wish my

disease was contagious just for a few minutes, long

Enough time to surprise them with a big hug and kiss before

laughing and walking out!

Subject: Re: HelloDear Dawn, Hello, and again, welcome to the group. I

know how it feels to be considered " mental "

about one's health, and to have doctors and family members, alike, tell you

it's " all in your head " .

That is a common theme with Lupus and other autoimmune patients. If they

don't know the answers,

they tend to deny the existence of the problem...especially if it frightens

them.

So, tell us some more about YOU, and keep us posted on how you do in finding a

good Rheumatologist. Hugs, MM aka: Mike, one of the

Cheryl, Boy! You must think like me. Hahaha. I want everybody who ever said to me, "Oh, get

over it, it's all in your head..." to experience this disease on a really bad day in a bad flare, just for

24 hours. THEN let them say it's all in our heads. Most men can't handle pain of any sort, which is

why women have babies, and I'll betcha all those whiny husbands and boyfriends out there would lay

down and die after just one day with Lupus, don't you? I know that we have a few male participants in the group, but most of us are female and dealing, thank you very much.

And, don't get me started on doctors who don't "believe in Lupus", or who supported our insane

nazi gov for signing that initiative stating that Fibromyalgia isn't a disease. This puts hundreds, maybe thousands of people in jeopardy with their disability incomes. The man should live in my body

for a day when the fibro is at its peak. I have six major conditions going on all the time, and several

minor ones, too. I can't imagine having to go back to work with all this going on in my body. When

I am so inflamed that the palms of my hands are scarlet and almost glow, my whole body can't be

touched, when the pain of a gentle hug can make me scream, I'd like to see his nibs deal with it. Now

that would be a hoot, to watch that bastard squirm in pain like I do most days. He hasn't got a clue.

Ok, I'm down off my soapbox now. Sorry for the diatribe, but I just get pushed out of shape over these idiots sometimes. Loving hugs, MM
