Guest guest
Hello Jackie:) I am so glad to hear you going for it:) I did a cleansing diet my first 3 days on the diet. It is only fresh fruit and fresh fruit juice. Nothing else but water. It really works to clean your whole system out of toxin build up and to clean out the colon. Then I went to the fruit and veggie diet only for almost 3 months. No meat and absolutely no processed foods. Coming up with variety in a veggie diet is hard especially when being a vegetarian is a whole new concept. On the juices I just have fun. A really good blend: strawberries, bananas, carrots, apples and a touch of grapes. And also: celery, carrots and apples (sounds disgusting but it is really good) I never realized that a large glass of fresh juice is better than any cup of coffee as far as waking you up and energizing you. Also stir frys are great for adding variety to your veggies. You can come up with all kinds of different tastes. And then serve it over brown or wild rice. White rice has been polished and so all nutritional value has been removed. I will get out my vegetarian cookbook and posts some recipes for you soon:) Hope this helps you! God bless you always, Mick avonrepjackie@... wrote: In a message dated 7/25/02 8:58:30 AM Pacific Daylight Time, writes: > > Good luck jackie...... You can do it!! > Mickness THanks for the encouragement! Day one was a success, I was able to make a big change even before I made it to the store to stock myself up on fresh foods. Today will be even better, I'm making a big vat of fresh salsa to scoop up with celery and to pour over some beans etc. That might sound funny but my salsa is so good I could have it as a cold soup Mickness can I ask you to give me some examples of what you keep handy to eat? I need some new ideas to inspire me. I like the idea of thinking of the cookies and etc as poison. I'm doing it right now, That cookie on the counter is a big fat PAIN pill, but it gives pain not takes it away. About cooking in general, I like to make large quantities when I cook and then freeze portions for later. It really cuts down on the time I spend in the kitchen and keeps everyone fed for a while. Actually, I got alot of good tips on OAMC or once a month cooking lists here on yahoo. Cooking ahead of time saves me alot of energy. While I can't quite DO a total OAMC, I do get alot of benefit from some of their techniques. Then again so does having someone else clean up after I am finished cooking DH and DS are wonderful about that, I think they are just happy to get my cooking so they'll clean up HAPPILY. ________________ Jackie www.youravon.com/jackienelson
Guest guest
I never liked fruits or veggies much growing up. I liked the good stuff....chocolate, chips, hamburgers and french fries. I never considered what my diet would do to my body. But after spending the last 6 years bedridden, in suicidal pain levels 24/7, watching from a distance my family's life moving on, while mine stood still, and seeing my children grow and not being able to have any part in their life, I could learn to love fruits and veggies if it made a difference in my life. I am thankful I made the choice that I did it changed my whole life. Now. There is no limit to what I can do. I feel that I am healthier now than before I became ill. And I know that it came from a complete lifestyle change, beginning with diet. I believe in free choice. I hope and pray that your symptoms do not increase. I hope and pray that you do not become completely bedridden. I hope that you continue to have a choice. The purest form of food is fresh vine ripe. It is what our body needs to fight off infections, disease, and now toxins. I hope someday you are ready to make the change......for you:) Peace and blessing, Mick Darcy Stockstill catstamp@...> wrote: I just couldn't do this. Raw fruits and veggies sometimes make my stomach hurt. When my IBS is acting up, I can't eat fruits or veggies, just makes things worse. I love veggies when they're still slightly crunchy, but dh thinks that means they're still on the vine, and that's not good! Also, I don't really like beans very much, can't eat much in the way of spices, and I need protein (not a big tofu fan either). So I guess I'm still going to have to pass on this although, it does sound like it's pretty healthy. Darcy
