Guest guest
This should not be a shock to anyone. There are numerous legitimate web companies that use this – it’s just a new twist on advertising. There is a reason the Yahoo! groups are free of charge; it’s paid for by advertising. As it is with the Yahoo! advertising offer, you can opt out of web beacons. Just go to http://info.yahoo.com/privacy/us/yahoo/opt_out/targeting/details.html and click on “Opt out”. The moderators do what we can to protect your privacy, but as has been said many times before, do not post anything you wouldn’t want to be seen publicly. It is possible to get a truly private bulletin board type service, but it would NOT be free. Take care. Arne From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Margaret son Passed along from another group.......
