Guest guest
Hi Meg, I thought my cramping was from low potassium also, but the blood tests were normal. So I have just come to the conclusion that it must be from the decreace in my Prednisone dose.....I just went from 10mgs down to 71/2 mg.......My psychiatrist just added another antidepressant to the one I already take ......she said it will also help me sleep, and will help my pain med. to work. I am just taking Vicodin for pain....My Lupus is in remission now so I am just dealing with Fibro. and Sjogrens. I hope your Dr. prescribes something so that you can get some relief. I am feeling somewhat better today. A friend told me to try tonic water with a bit of lemon or lime for taste.....tonic water has Quinine in it to help with the cramping. I haven't tried it yet....as it is still a few days till I get my disability.. Also , sports drinks like Gatorade and also tomato juice have a lot of potassium, but they also have a lot of sodium , so you have to watch out for that if you are on a sodium restricted diet. Re: BOY DO i FEEL LIKE A FOOL Hi Right now, I can totally sympathize with you. For aout a week or two now my legs have been killing me...major cramping and aching that seems to be unrelenting. Add insomnia and all the other junk and it makes for a very miserable time!! In my case, I suspect the cramping is from low potassium, I dont know if anyone else suffers from this? It doesnt ever seem to regulate. I called my MD to see if they'd RX something for pain so that at least I could hopefully get comfy and fall asleep. I really hope you feel better soon, if it helps...know that I am sitting here trying to type and massage my legs at the same time!Take Care.Meg"The LUPIES Store" Come check out our store...http://www.cafepress.com/thelupies"The LUPIES Web Page"http://www.itzarion.com/lupusgroup.html"The LUPIES online photo albums!"
