Guest guest
Cris, you are barely in normal ranges on your labs. It is no wonder you do not feel well. For mid range you want your Free T4 about 1.4 and your free T3 at 325 would be MID range and you will likely not feel well till it is over that. You have a choice, you can stick with this doctor and never feel well, find a better doctor or self medicate the difference. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes? Guest guest
Have you checked the adrenals? I hate to bring this up as it's a HOT topic on the board but, I too did not feel well and my labs looked very similiar to yours. I had terrible nausea, muscle weakness, weight loss, etc. and found that I had adrenal fatigue. After taking Cortef, the symptoms went away. The only draw back is you are limited to 20mg of cortef and you will sometimes use it all up and crash due to extra stress. So it can be limiting however, it's neccessary to allow the adrenals time to heal. Have you had cortisol checked? I know many will say that the coritisol test is useless however, in my case it was enough to flag me as having adrenal fatigue. What are your symptoms now? Guest guest
well - my free t3 is 413 out of 230-420, so it is close to that top range - it is ok if it goes over the top? the free t4 at 1.2 out of up to 1.8 - I figured it could go up a bit more. this is the best doctor that I have found around here - and I've tried a more than a few.The others wouldn't have let me get this far. I have the pills in my freezer to dig out to self medicate. I don't know when she'll require another bloodtest. other than I am scheduled for one with my cholesterol in april. so if I were to self medicate now, she might panic then, and drop my meds down. I'll keep my ears open for another doctor though too. thanks! cris Re: my last bloodwork Cris, you are barely in normal ranges on your labs. It is no wonder you do not feel well. Guest guest
Many of us feel best with our T3 over the top. Just keep in mind that unlike your doctor we KNOW these tests are not entirely accurate. I have not had labs done in two years and I am not concerned with my own levels but I am willing opt bet my T3 is WAY over the top. Guest guest
At this point, I need this doctor. Until I find someone who is better. And I've not had much luck in that department!! This doctor really is nice, and seems very good in a lot of ways. 100X better than any other doctors that I have had in about 20 years. and I know we (thyroid sufferer's) are not alone. I talked to a lady at Physical Therapy yesterday who is going through this same thing with her doctor - she has cardiac problems. OH! and I asked her if she had thyroid problems, and she does! and I'm betting she is way under treated, and on synthroid. But she didn't seem open to that discussion, so I kept my trap shut. After my next round of bloodwork, I'll up my dose on my own. We're also discussing Cymbalta. My rhematologist thinks it will be the next miracle pain med, but wants to wait 3 months until he sees how some of his patients are doing on it, and to see if anything bad pops up about it. cris Re: my last bloodwork > > >Cris, you are barely in normal ranges on your labs.
