It seems that whenever someone asks me and I begin to talk about this illusive

illness that creates widespread pain, fatigue, fogginess, and a host of other

conditions...all of a sudden, I begin to notice their eyes glaze over.

My quick answer to people who really don't *want* to know the details is that

it's like having the flu every day and how tired/hurting you feel when you have

the flu. That's usually enough to give them a quick answer that makes sense to

them. For those who want to know more, I'll give them more details.

curious) is why it's okay to talk about specific prescribed pharmaceuticals that

help or not, along with side effects, but not okay to talk about specific

alternative supplements and medicines that we might find helpful or hurtful.

There is nothing wrong with saying " I found magnesium/chiropractors/acupuncure/

a good daily vitamin " . It's when you start saying that company xyz has the only

product that works to cure fibro that you start to get into murky waters.

Unfortunately, there are people out there who pretend to have fibro and come

into the group to start hawking their wares. Those are the people we are trying

to stop, not the average member of the group who says I use essential oils, and

these vitamins.
