For buying a new bed (which I had to do 2 or so years back) I would suggest

asking your chiropractor and if you don't have one, buy a bed that is

endorsed by chiropractors. Unfortunately these beds end up being a couple

of thousand for it.

Hope this helps a bit.

-- buying a mattress

I am trying to find a proper mattress for myself. My pressure points

are tender. I have not been technically diagnosed yet with

fibromyalgia, but I think I probably do have it. I go to see

rhuematologist in Oct. I also have some thoracic and cervical spine

issues. Thus far, no lumbar problems. I presently have a traditional

mattress, however if I didn't know better I'd say I was sleeping in a

hammock!! I wake up 5-6 times a night, and always wake up hurting.

I have been to the " BIG " mattress store locally. Gosh, it seems to

be the size of a small K-Mart! How does one choose? Do I go soft,

so as to relieve the pressure points? Or go firm, for the back/spine

support? Or perhaps, I should try an airbed?

So gang, I am hoping you'll be able to let me know what

kinds/brands/models that are working for your backs and painful

pressure points.

ahead of time...THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

I have to agree that sometimes it's good to spend the extra money on a bed.

Mine was $1000. It was worth every penny and has a ten year warranty.
