Guest guest
DeaR donna: your post really touched me - I know you feel like you m ust have something terrible,. but all you can do is keep up on your physicals each year, and any screenin tests the doctor asks for. Check out a pain management clinic at your nearest big hospital or medical group. See the pain management team there and that will consist of several specialists and a nurse and will evaluate all of your symptons and tie your treatment into a neat pack. This is a very hard syndrome to treat - I have had it for 24 years and I am in awful pain as I write this tonight. It is discouraging. I have tried everything. No NSAID drug helps me. I have taken OxyContin with good results and MS Contin and morphne and methadone, etc. I keep a jouirnal as I can;t remember all that I have done.I take Elavil (amitryptiline) at bedtime and that helps. I read everything and the latest book I like is written by Dr. Don L. Goldenberg in Boston, who diagnosed me, and it is a great book. Your library will have it. Let me know how you are doing, OK? I see how upset you are and I really want to help. Nest. I am now in pain all the time and I am on Darvocette and Robaxin (muscle Relaxant) and Celebrex. The Darvocette is the strongest I can get, yet it doesn't stop the pain. I have tried other doctors but they just want to put me on the new anti-inflammatory drugs, most of which make me sick and I cannot take. Celebrex is the only one and it only seems to help the knee and ankle joints from hurting. So for the arthritis it's helping, it's just the FMS that I'm having trouble with right now for pain relief. Lately I hurt so bad I'm starting to worry I have cancer or something. But it's comforting to know that others seem to be in a bad flare right now too. I have all the problems everyone cites here on the list so I will not go into those. I would just like to know how most of you get these heavy narcotics to help with your pain. I should mention I do not see a Rheumatologist, just a regular D.O. Is this the key? I'm just so sick of all of it and not getting anything for relief. Any suggestions? I am not a drug addict looking for a high. I really need some pain medicine that works. Thanks Donna
