Guest guest
This is the list folks; bear with me Prescribed meds: elavil/amitriptyline (for sleep) - 30 mgs at bedtime. Occasionally will take 40 mg. if I haven't slept well for a few nights. xanax/alprazolam .25 mg. as needed for anxiety attacks (every 24 hours tops) effexor XR caps 37.5 (one in the a.m. or it will disrupt my sleep). Does seem to even out my moods. They can't up it or I get aggressive and thoughtless. My doc and I argue over this one because I think I need to be weaned off. He says my pain has not been as disruptive since I started taking it.) Okay, now down to the nitty gritty. Chromium (400 mcg per day) I space this out to keep my blood sugar levels even. I tend toward reactive hypoglycemia) Evening Primrose (psoriasis and dry, itchy skin) These are gel- caps. I take 1500 mg twice a day and have seen marvelous improvement in my skin in general) Borage Oil 1000 mg.(in place of fish oil which I can't take when I wear my magnets because my feet will smell up Time Square) Astragalus Root(for breaking up mucous, especially in the lungs for my asthma) A qi herb highly regarded by the Chinese herbalist. 1.41 gr. capsules - 3 once a day. Garlic - to control cholesterol and blood pressure 520 mg. once a day. Potassium Gluconate - 595 mg once a day (very important mineral for peri and menopausal and post Mp women. Theragran + one a day for the vitamins Thymex 7924 195 mg. Bovine Thymus extract. Thymus builds the immune system. This is a chiropractic remedy. and the big one Malic Relief Formula by Biochem or Biotech. I get it at the health food store I'll list below. This is the one I can't go without. It makes THE difference. It's magnesium and manganese with some other minerals tossed in. Toomey Natural Foods is where I buy it, along with most of the above. You should be able to find them at livingnaturally.com under retailers. The Toomey sight has a reference library about conditions and suggested remedies. I keep up to date on drug and herbal remedies interaction on this site. Happy hunting!
