Appt at the pain clinic

Ok, whoever said pain clinics are a waste of time is totally right.

This doctor I saw yesterday was so abrupt, I was almost laughing, it

was so shocking. When he asked me anything, he cut me off if I

strayed from anything beyond a yes/no answer. He only wanted to know

about things I'd been diagnosed with previously, had no interest in

my present symptoms, how much pain I was in, anything like that.

After he met his own agenda, I was dragged out for bloodwork and x-

rays(he never even botherd to look at the x-rays I had brought from

my chiropractor), and I never saw the doctor again. He never did a

physical exam at all. Found myself up at the front desk being told my

follow up appt. would be scheduled for May 23. May 23? They actually

wanted me to wait another month to get the results of the bloodwork

and x-rays!! I had a hard enough time hanging on until this

appointment!! I can't wait another month for some sort of treatment,

especially an anti-depressant. Do you believe that?! And these people

say they treat pain!

Well, since my PCP is trying so hard to get back into my good graces,

I called him. I get to stop by his office for samples of an anit-

depressant(so nice since my insurance doesn't cover prescriptions) to

try. With my boss being such an *&$!# I need to schedule any further

appts. on Saturdays, and my PCP is not in this Saturday, so I have to

wait almost 2 weeks for pain meds. But at least I'm getting an anti-

depressant, and almost 2 weeks is still a lot sooner than a month.

Anyway, that was my wasted trip to the pain clinic yesterday

afternoon. Oh well, live and learn.

Take care everyone,
