The more I think about it, the more sure I am that I'm not going

back to this guy! And the more I read, the more convinced I am that

I have been hypo my whole life! Always cold hands & feet, at age 18

had thyroid & adrenals (24-hour urine) tested because I couldn't

gain weight (oh, to have that problem now :) and thyroid was " low

normal " . Then I quit smoking and ended up with Graves' disease! I

just think that since the RAI I am MORE hypo than ever before.....At

least I'm finally on the right track and I'm not going to meekly do

what the doctor says any more!

Hey doc, if you think gas is a social problem, wait till my next

physical! LOL

Yes I am so happy to have found this group too. It is just a blessing. I was on

the graves support, trying to ask for some advice. My doctor was only looking at

the TSH, even told them my bad hypo symptoms. The dummies still would not give

me any kinds of t4 meds. Then, this lady there named Sandy pointed me to this

group and I was so a mazed and relieved too. I knew what to do to get myself out

of a bad situation.

Changing the subject, did you feel like boxing that doctor that said you don't

have Phd behind your name? They don't like for the patients to know more then

them Heeeee!!!

You should have to work around some of them. Some are also extremely

arrogant.

Others are absloutly wonderful to work with.

For me the low level xray was minor compoared to the high level

tension of feeling like I had to justify my Armour dose. Amazingly,

this same doctor, after talking to Great Smokies Diagnostic Lab

about my liver proile told me I have thyroid resistance, and yes

there are a few documented cases of thyroid resistance. The

physician from Great Smokies told him I was thyroid resistant. A

few???? I wonder where these guys (don't) get their information

from? He put it like it was some kind of novel thing, and after

being on this message board for the past several months thyroid

resistance seems so like an " of course that is what I am! " Because

another physician said I was thyroid resistant, that made it real

for him. God forbid any of these MD's shouldd reeeeeeallllyyyyy

listen to anybody and add up 2+2 and get four instead of 0. 20

years of depression, constipation, PMS, low body temp, etc, etc.

etc. didn't add up. Go figure.

And yes, having an MD after your name only insures you were capable

of completing medical school. It says nothing about true

intelligence. The people on this board are by far the most

intelligent I have come across in a loonngg time, and I thank each

and every one of you for your collective advice over the past

several months.

A liver profile does not show thyroid hormone resistance, if you were

truely resistant than your liver panel would be near normal, thyroid

lab work does. There are a couple different things that can be

perceieved and called resistance to a certain degree but actual

resistance is rare like your doc was telling you. What do your labs

look like?
