Guest guest
MONDAY, MARCH 09, 2009 03:55 PM, CDT We had our first clinic visit bright and early this morning. We met some other nice folks who are recent transplant recipients. Chris's liver numbers are up slightly. Dr. Mangus said it's possible that where the old bile duct and new bile duct are sewn together that it's swollen and causing bile to back up. If his numbers aren't better on Thursday he'll have an ERCP after his clinic visit. Hopefully his numbers will be back down. They've gone up and down over the last week so it's quite possible that they'll go back down. Dr. Friddle looked at his vitals and said that his low blood pressure could also be causing his liver numbers to be up. They put him on blood pressure meds so hopefully that will help as well. They also put him on Zoloft to help with his emotions. Everyone has said it's normal to have crying spells and that lots of transplant patients end up on antidepressants for a little while. He's been talking to people from work this afternoon helping them out with various tasks. He misses the people he works with and, well, working! Hopefully he'll be up to doing some work from home in the next week or so. I can tell it lifts his spirits to feel like he's doing something useful. Blessings to you all!
