Guest guest
8-26-02 Darcy, It was not our intention to ruffle your feathers or butt heads with you.I have been so blessed as to not be personally afflicted with “MCS”, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue or any of the other life altering conditions discussed on your group and the thousands of others on line. I am the other type of victim. The one who lost her Pop to toxic injuries, the one who deals daily with her mother’s deteriorating health due to “MCS”, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and the list goes on. I am also one of the few who continue to stand by their loved ones, one of the few that have taken the initiative to fight for all those who can’t fight for themselves. But, unfortunately, we’ve learned first hand the devastation caused from exposures to the multitude of toxic chemicals found in our surrounding environments. Through our own pain, suffering, loss of health and loved ones, the need to raise public awareness and education on this growing problem became painfully clear. Thus the birth of the ”MCS” Beacon of Hope Foundation. I joined your group to accomplish 2 things. First, to learn more about the daily struggles and needs of others afflicted with FM, what may work or not for them and in hope of discovering helpful, verifiable information on FM (to benefit my mother and the others who contact us daily seeking help.) Secondly to give your list members a chance to join the others who are afflicted with Fibromyalgia, Chronic fatigue, ME, Gulf War Illness, ADD, ADHD, Cancer, MS, Immune Dysfunction Syndrome, MCS and more in supporting National “MCS” Awareness & Education Month! So Darcy, it comes down to this. I do not appreciate being talked down to like a misbehaving two-year-old child (that dog just doesn’t run with me.) There is also the fact remaining that we have read and reread your “Welcome information” and see no mention of “NO” Sites Allowed and as we believe, when information is shared we have the moral and legal need to be able to verify it (thus the purpose of the availability of the source site) and as we also have problems with some of your other “No No’s”, effective immediately, I am withdrawing my name from your list. However, because we are firm believers that if you are not a part of the solution…you are a part of the problem, we will continue to be available and supportive to any one on or leaving your list and they may reach us at the following contact numbers: “MCS” Beacon of Hope Foundation , Director: 6519 - 31st. Links aren't permitted, the reason why doesn't matter. If you continue to harp on this issue, you will go on moderated mail. If that doesn't work, then you will be banned. I am at my limit on this issue and will not tolerate further discussion on the matter. Darcy list co-moderator Darcy, We respect the decisions of the Moderator and yourself and appriciate your position. We are just having a hard time understanding why you guys don't want people to share good and helpful information on your site. Someone not too long ago said: thats what the delete button was made for...unwanted info. Just hoping you can shed some light on why this policy was put in to effect. Thanks! & Peggy There are many links that people want to post here that are wonderful and worthwhile, but unfortunately, the policy at this point is that links are not permitted. Since you posted two messages about this petition that included the link, anyone in this group who feels like they want to sign, can go there. Anyone who missed those messages can either look them up in the archives for the link or email you off list to ask where to go. Thanks Darcy list co-moderator Darcy, We understand that we all get lots of bulk mail, however we would think that as the head of a support group you would want to offer your members the opportunity to obtain all the help they can possibly get. In this particular situation we are referring to the petition. How can we expect to get the recognition and support that we all need if we are not allowed to share all the resources and opportunities that are available on the internet? Your Friends In Health... Working For A Healthier & Brighter Tommarrow For All! & Peggy Darcy Stockstill wrote: For those of you who want links, I'm sorry, but Missy, who owns the list does not want them. This includes links to petitions. We normally don't have the kind of fuss and arguments that we've had for the last two weeks. We normally have a group full of members who give all kinds of support. I'd like to see the group stop debating the rules which aren't up for debate, support the list by sticking to the rules, and actually getting back to supporting each other. For those of you who have been, it's GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks Darcy list co-moderator ---------------------------------
