I would personally stop at 3 grains and hold for 4-5 weeks to give

the T4 time to build and see the results. Then if you don't like the

results, you can raise another 1/2 grain........hold.........and so

on.

, there is no answer to your question as size seems to have little to do

with our final needs of Armour. I am not a lightweight, coming in at 200 pounds,

but I an 5'1 " so I carry that alot worse than you carry 240! LOL I think it has

to do more with how long you were without proper treatment when you needed it

and the state your own thyroid is in. I really feel up until about 7 years ago

my thyroid was functioning slightly, and then it just QUIT. When it quit, it

didn;t matter what meds I took in what amounts of the T4 only meds I was on, I

was going seriously downhill in a hurry. Until I got back on Armour T4 meds were

like taking sugar pills! But you have to find your own dosage by just slowly

increasing till you feel relief from your symptoms, there is no magic number per

weight we can give you, as it is a hormone it doesn't work like a DRUG would.

Hi, ! I switched right over from Synthroid to Armour (well, the generic,

anyway). I was on 112 mcg and stopped taking that and started taking 2 grains

of Armour right off the bat. My adrenals must have been healthy because I

didn't have any problems. And I felt better in a matter of days. The big thing

is not your size, but your symptoms. Pay attention to how you feel, not how

much you should be taking.

Feeling better but low energy (tired)

Hi all,

I am 6 feet and 240 Lb....Big guy :) I am taking Levoxyl 212 MCG,

(was taking)

I am now in the process of converting to Armour....1.5 grains & 100

Levoxyl

For a person my size (large frame) whom normally take 212 MCG

Levoxyl, How much Armour sounds right? 4 Grains? As I increase 1/2 a

grain every 5 days, should I stop for 4 weeks at 3 grains to

continue to 4 and stop there for 3 to 4 weeks?

Thanks
