Guest guest
When you build up to 4-6 grains if this is needed what are the lab results like then? As this is the equivalent of 400- 600 T4? are not the results of T4 T3 way up high above the standard ranges?plus TSH suppressed. I am just wondering here, as I will start the Armour again soon as a self treater as my GP in Wales. UK. would not prescribe me T3 or Armour.I am back on 125mcg for the moment because I got headaches and swollen glands on the I grain plus 50 mcg T4. Funny one as I am fine today, been to work and my headache gone and glands fine so I don't think I have an infection after all. Do you think the Armour could have upset my glands? I have taken synthetic T4 for 5 years when first diagnosed I had a TSH of 324 ( range 0.3- 5) and I was doing well on it until the foggy head etc made me feel like I was starting dementia, work and life was very difficult, plus aches and pains, fatigue, and depression-morbid thoughts,That is why I asked for the T3, but I hit a brick wall there, So I bought the Armour-- then the headaches after one month on it. Anyway my main question was what do the lab results look like when you are on say 4-6 grains? Thanks for listening.. Liz
Guest guest
>>When you build up to 4-6 grains if this is needed what are the lab results like then? << That will depend on YOUR individual system and how much hormone you actually need. When I was at 4 1/2 grains Armour my Free T4 was 1.4 range 1.2-1.8 and my Free T3 was 225 range 230-450... SO even at that high dosage I needed MORE hormones, especially the T3. By that testing I went to 5 grains Armour and added in 50 mcg T3. NOT all at once, but I then tuned that dosage by how I felt. I have been on this dosage now for about 3 months. I do not feel hyper at all. In fact I still have some hypo symptoms, but also problems waking at 4 AM almost every night. I am overdue for some testing at this dosage but I am willing to bet I am at top of T4 range and maybe slightly over T3, which is just where I want it to be to feel good. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Guest guest
Hello Liz, There is no set amount of Armour or Synthroid or Levoxyl for the whole world of people. As we are all individuals, our bodies use the hormones differently... One of us may do great on only 1 grain of Armour where as another may need to take 6 grains or more of Armour to get the same numbers in the lab tests... This is why, as individuals, we need to treat our bodies based upon how we feel and not only upon lab results.
