Guest guest
Restless leg syndrome is not uncommon in the general population. It's seen more frequently in women than men. To have it officially diagnosed (and treated with medication) you would need to have a sleep study done - which probably isn't a bad idea because chiari and several sleep disorders (sleep apnea etc) are often seen in the same people. I would doubt that RLS is caused by chiari - it's probably seen just as much in the non-chiari commuinity as the chiari community, although with this condition.....who really knows! As I said, RLS can be treated, and should be because typically it's more than just an annoyance, it disrupts your quality of sleep, and when you're battling other health problems, quality of sleep is soooo important! There is a page on a website I run with some suggestions someone made in dealing with RLS that might be helpful to some of you www.talhost.net/sleep/rls.htm Beth in Australia No official Chiari Diagnosis yet, no surgery My Chiari Story & View my MRI scans http://talhost.net/health.html restless legs Also got restless legs. Guest guest
Thank you EVERYONE for the info on " restless legs " ...I just thought I was going crazy...I didn't know it was an actual condition. My husband does the twitching and I just do the restless part. It usually happens to me when I lay down to TRY to sleep. I keep moving my legs back and forth because I cannot get comfortable (and my legs can't touch one another). I thought this was another thing that was " just in my head " just like all my Lupus symptoms
