Gastritis anyone?

I had an ERCP last week and in my notes it states I have nodular

gastritis. Anyone else? I know it runs in my family a bit but after

doing some research I see it can also be caused by lack of B-12 and

bile reflux. The bile reflux makes the most sense to me. Is anyone else

being treated with this? If so, do you take over the counter zantac

(ranitidine) or prilosec (omeprozole) or do you need an rx for

something a little stronger like prevacid, nexium, etc? Or do you just

let it go away by adjusting diet? I haven't really experienced symptoms

yet.

Thanks in advance,

Holly

In the last months pre-transplant I had

bile reflux. Over the counter Pepcid 20 mg BID did the trick for me. I

started on Zantac 75 mg BID, but when I was hospitalized the hospital did not

have Zantac and preferred Pepcid. It worked better for me. If you choose

either and have a Sam’s nearby, they have the absolute best prices on the

generic equivalent of both drugs.

Diet just wouldn’t do the trick for

me…..even when I was NPO.

Hi Don,

They both exhibit the same symptoms but there

are differences. They can appear together – mine did. I still have a little

reflux, but nothing at all like I did about six months prior to tx.

Here’s a link that explains both.
